Finance Careers

Money, as the old saying has it, makes the world go around. Someone has to decide how money is used, how it is invested, and how it is spent. Finance colleges are essential for careers in money. If working with money gives you deep satisfaction, or if you simply want to earn a lot of it, a career in finance may be for you.

There are many types of finance careers. Perhaps the most important is financial advisor. In this career, you'll use your financial expertise to tell other people what to do with their money - how to spend it, how to invest it, how to shelter it from taxes, and how to pass it on to their heirs after they die. This requires a deep knowledge of money and the laws that govern its use. It also requires considerable knowledge of the financial industry so that you'll know what tax laws give the taxpayer the greatest financial advantage and what banks and investment firms pay the largest or most reliable returns on investment. Perhaps you'll even work for one of these investment firms yourself.

Finance Careers Or, your path through the world of finance careers could place you in corporate finance, where you control the way in which a corporation earns and spends its money. Large amounts of money flow through a large corporation, and it's important that that money be managed in a way that it will be used wisely and efficiently. A corporate finance officer decides how the money is spent and invested and, most importantly, how it is used to grow the corporation, maximizing returns for stockholders. You may even work your way up to CFO - Chief Financial Officer - of the corporation.

Because business is about money, many jobs in business can be considered part of finance careers. Much of what managers do in the business world involves finance and the proper use of money. Finance is even part of government, with lawmakers spending much of their time deciding how money is to be budgeted for public use and how that money is to be raised through taxes or through investments.

If you go into the world of finance careers, you'll probably make quite a bit of money yourself, which may be your goal in choosing this line of work. If so, best of luck to you. While it's important to enjoy the work you do, it helps if you can earn a significant amount of money while doing so.
